Toddler in stable condition after fall from Brockton motel window
BRCK_BABY5.jpg

An 18-month-old boy was in stable condition Monday afternoon at Children’s Hospital in Boston  after toppling about 12 feet from a second-floor window at the Quality Inn at 1005 Belmont St. in Brockton.    Police Sgt. George Khoury said it appears the child, identified as Alector Gonsalez, may have landed on his head on a concrete skirt that surrounds a kidney-shaped pool at the rear of the hotel. Results from a CT scan done at Children's Hospital were negative, but the boy will remain at the hospital for 24 hours for observation, Khoury said.

tpl-lbshoney.jpg
Honey, a 4-year-old pit bull mix, is a very special girl that needs a very special home. This sweet, petite girl has endured several traumas in her life and really deserves some good fortune. She was home alone during a break-in, which left her frightened of men. Then, her adoptive family lost their home to foreclosure. Honey needs a home with a patient and understanding adult woman or women. If you are interested in adopting Honey, call the Milton Animal Shelter at 617-698-0413. Animal shelters throughout the South Shore are filled with dogs and cats that would make great companions. Read the complete list of those pets who are anxiously awaiting a “forever home.”

Massachusetts commercial fishermen will see an increase in most of the groundfish stocks they’re allowed to catch when the new fishing year starts in May, but the change will do very little to restore what they lost a year ago.
