Braintree shopping mall assault labeled gang-related

Two men have been charged in alleged gang-related stabbing of a Randolph man at South Shore Plaza in Braintree. Ricardo Clermont, 21, of 57 Putnam St., Quincy and Geraldo Lerouge, 20, of Hyde Park are both charged with armed assault with intent to murder. Bail for each was set at $1,500 after they pleaded innocent Monday at their Quincy District Court arraignments.

Extradition battle looms over return of Brockton murder suspect to the United States
Luis Guaman

Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz on Wednesday publicly named Luis Guaman as the suspect in the murders of  Avelina Palaguachi-Cela, 25, and her son, Brian Palaguachi Caguana, 2, on Feb. 13 in Brockton.  Cruz said his office on Tuesday obtained from Interpol  murder warrants for Guaman's arrest,  which have been forwarded to Ecuador as authorities here seek his return to the United States to stand trial.
