As snow piles up, danger lurks on roofs as well as roads  A second round of wet, heavy snow in two weeks has safety officials keeping an eye on structures topped with the flat roofs most vulnerable to collapse. Roofs collapsed under the weight of snow in Lynn, Avon and West Bridgewater on Thursday, as accumulation from back-to-back storms proved too much for several parking garages and warehouses. The Blue Hill Observatory in Milton reported 14.7 inches with a peak wind gust of 48 mph. This is now the second snowiest January in 126 years of record-keeping at the obsevatory.
