AROUND THE POUNDS: Tino, a rescue cat left on roadside to die, needs a home
tpl-lbs02tino.jpg
Tino, a 1-year-old domestic shorthair,  truly deserves being part of a family and a second chance at life. This remarkable boy somehow survived being hit by a car. He was found on side of the road with a broken pelvis. He has recovered from his severe injuries after a month of cage rest. Despite his harrowing experience, he has a sunny personality and is a loving cat. He needs a new family who will keep him indoors and away from the street.  If you are interested in adopting Tino, call the Milton Animal Shelter at 617-698-0413. Animal shelters throughout the South Shore are filled with dogs and cats that would make great companions. Read the complete list of those pets who are anxiously awaiting a “forever home.” More photos of homeless pets at South Shore shelters

Should district attorneys be appointed rather than elected?
take our poll

Norfolk County District Attorney and former state Sen. Michael Morrissey has had to hire a special outside prosecutor to  the handle of the case of a member of a prominent Quincy family that contributed  regularly to his past campaigns for office and who have benefited from legislation he sponsored. Since all district attorneys must run for office every four years, is it time to remove politics from the office and change this from an elected to an appointed position as is the case in many other states.  Take our poll. Call 781-340-3157 and leave a short message that we might post as an audio letter. Post a comment or click Ledger or click Enterprise to e-mail us.
