Mystery Noodles on the Way!
The Buzz...

Low-calorie-noodle lovers, listen up! A WHOLE NEW SHAPE of Tofu Shirataki noodles is coming soon... and we can't tell you what it is but it rhymes with flackaroni! ***Uh oh. A recently published study suggests that eating lunch in front of the computer could lead people to eat more later in the day than if they were eating undistracted. Computer-bound subjects had a fuzzier memory of what and how much they ate for lunch; this worries us, what with our hard-working, chewing-while-typing ways... ***Time for some good news (for us ladies, at least). New research from Northwestern University shows that while regular exercise keeps weight gain to a minimum in aging men AND women, the ladies are likely to gain less over the years. Active females averaged 13 fewer pounds of weight gain compared to not-so-active women, while the male exercisers gained 6 fewer pounds than low-activity guys. Get moving, everybody! ***Good news/bad news: Wendy's has FINALLY launched its breakfast menu (YAY!), but most of the items in the lineup have somewhat scary stats (BOO!). The bright spots on the menu are the Fresh Seasonal Fruit (grapes, apples, and strawberries or pineapple!) and the Good-to-Go Oatmeal Bar (baked fresh and served warm, for a reasonable 280 calories). The Mornin' Melt Panini? Fuhgeddaboudit. ***And finally, a story that actually kind of confuses us. A new zero-calorie candy, already sold in Brazil and expected to branch out, allegedly improves health, increases energy levels, slows aging, and gives you a better complexion... and contains no fat, preservatives, sugar, or sodium. Um, beauty candy? We don't really believe it; but if it turns out the stuff works AND won't kill us, we might buy stock. That's all we've got. HG out!

CHEW ON THIS:

Today, January 3rd, is National Chocolate-Filled Cherry Day! It sounds a bit difficult to actually fill a cherry with chocolate, so we'll be sipping some Cherry Bomb Iced Mochas instead!
