Quincy won't host Martin Luther King Jr. Day breakfast after running out of time, money

Quincy will not host a Martin Luther King Jr. Day breakfast this year because organizers had difficulty raising money and ran out of time. The Quincy Human Rights Commission, which organizes the breakfast, made the decision at its meeting Tuesday. This year would have been the 15th annual breakfast, which typically drew 200 people from across the region. The event featured a keynote speech on the legacy of the slain civil rights leader and an awards ceremony honoring people who work with the poor and disadvantaged in Quincy.
